Celebrate Palestine: Stories of the Resistance festival – 19th-20th March 2011

The inspirational resistance of the Palestinian people to years of occupation, war and most recently the siege on Gaza will be celebrated at a Festival hosted by SOAS Palestine Society and supported by various organisations including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign this weekend. Don’t miss it!

Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March, at SOAS University, London

Celebrate Palestine: stories of the resistance will bring a three day festival to the heart of London. The event will celebrate Palestinian culture and offer a glimpse of the reality of the Palestinians’ struggle for freedom. People from all walks of life have mobilised to share the history and stories of Palestinian resistance to Israeli apartheid, as well as the warmth and richness of Palestinian culture, with a new audience.

Discussions include: Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions; Gaza; The Palestinian Tradition of Popular Resistance – Liberation and Return; The Arab Revolutions and Palestine; Twinning with Palestine: the possibilities; What is the right of return? and Why does Israel reject it?; Reports from the Egyptian Revolution
